This is a very nice attempt of designing the next generation of iPad. The iPad 4 concept is based on Apple’s product line and built to top versatile new products. For this concept, the new iPad 4 features a built-in keyboard that slides at the bottom of the iPad.

It has similar functionality to the existing product but with some new details such as speakers from Bang & Olufsen, a new camera with HD 1080 12Mega pixel, and an aluminum frame, easy to recycle and maintain. The main idea was to design something that can replace not only tablet, but also netbook or even laptop.iPad 4 concept would function very well for your daily needs as if you have a laptop in your hand not justa tablet. Within this product line, this industrial designer also designed a portable hard disk to keep all yourdata safe.

Unique Concept Bike 0

The Brayton 6 concept bike was designed from the inside out in order to create a true high-performance machine. Designed by Colby Higgins, the designer of Train Wreck Bike, you can expect this bike design is going to be extraordinary. The power-to-weight ratio was a critical influence on the design, as you probably can see here, with the purpose of creating an extremely light motorcycle, the bike was built around a combustion “bladder”. The engine bladders are lightweight carbon nanotube cylinders. Each one acts individually like a 2-stroke engine to pull the camshaft and create linear motion. Timing and fuel regulation are controlled by a microcontroller. So, the benefits of utilizing the combustion bladder engine include weight reduction and ease of maintenance. The engine itself is fueled by natural gas stored in the bottom tank.

The overall form was an effort to inspire the animalistic feeling of a naked bike. The frame structure allows the rider to shift his riding position and ride height at the push of a button. Air-muscles provide fast and precise adjustment of the seat and front suspension parallelogram. The engine’s “bladders” sit in the center of the frame structure, braced by integral fairings that hold the spine of the frame together from the head-tube to the rear linkage. Massive brakes and oversized wheel bearings add the overall performance of the Brayton 6 Concept Bike.

Both the form and function of the Brayton 6 Concept Bike is an attempt to create a feeling of being one with the bike. The low-slung seat places the rider low to the ground and sitting “in” the bike. The engine bladders beat like a heart, making the bike appear as though it is living with the rider. This combination of man and machine is designed to invoke a truly unique emotion.

Emotional investment becomes physical, as the functionality of the device depends on the dysfunctionality of the wearer. While we enjoy the fantasies they offer, we rethink the technologies we construct and reflect on how they construct us.”

The system is balanced gyroscopically, technology equipped in this vehicle allows the car to monitor the surrounding environment, making decisions in relation to this site, stabilizing its balance according to each presented circumstance, a smart personal vehicle.

Designed by Dinard Da Mata, this futuristic personal vehicle has elliptical wheels that the tires rotate as synchronized treadmill rotation, allowing the vehicle to rotate around its axis and make other moves in irregular obstacles.

Honda Device Offers Freedom of Movement in Any Direction 0

Honda just unveiled its latest concept UNI-CUB personal mobility device, it is the upgraded version from U3-X personal mobility device that was announced in 2009. This unique vehicle features the same compact design, comfortable saddle and freedom of movement but still to some people think it’s an awkward design. What do you think?
Honda UNI-CUB personal mobility device has been designed for harmony with people, it provides the same freedom to move in all directions the same way as you walk. The balance control technology and omni-directional driving wheel system allow rider to easily control speed and movement literally in any direction, simply shift his or her weight to control the direction. With this ability, rider can quickly and easily maneuver among other people. The design of this device allows its rider to maintain eye-level height with other people while the compact saddle style packaging allows rider’s legs to easily reach the ground. Just like its slogan, it creates harmony between its rider and other people.



Just in case you are interested in viewing the demonstration testing of Honda UNI-CUB personal mobility device, you can visit Japan’s National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation in June 2012. Aside from testing the possibility of using this device indoors, this project will also explore other practical applications to enable being used in a wide range of environments world wide.

A Car With A Boat “Pod” Attached to It 0

Buick Ula Amphibious Vehicle by Josh Henry was inspired by two talented designers Melissa Sikorski and Carrie Fodor presentation during Josh internship at Sea Ray Boats. The presentation was about women and boating and how to make women to get more involved in recreational boating. From this point, Josh Henry wanted to design a version of his recreational boat that is less intimidating for beginners by combining a car and a trailer into a single unit with a boat “pod” attached to it.

Most people can’t afford to buy both a car and a boat at the same time, but if they choose Buick Ula Amphibious Vehicle, they’ll get both transportation, the process of deciding need vs want can be eliminated.

Joshua Henry’s own words:

I wanted the design to be unique. I really thought about the surfaces and how they interact with one another. I wanted a lot of the details to be more subtle and make the vehicle much more approachable. One challenge from the beginning was how to make the two pieces (trailer and boat parts) cohesive and not only fit together, but look good both when they are apart as well as together.
I really liked the idea of utilizing those gaps between the pieces and how they fit together and really design them in a way that there’s a design detail and not try to just cover them up. One thing I did was added LED lighting that really emphasizes the part lines and really adds a lot of dynamic energy to the overall look and feel of the vehicle.
The overall theme I imagined and the picture I created in my head from the very beginning was a woman living in a modern world in the glamorous Miami. Buick Ula Amphibious Vehicle allows her to have the freedom that she desires by utilizing her vehicle on land and water as she pleases for both pleasure and transportation. Living in Miami, I also imagined the use for night life or just driving down the road in south beach in the sun. When I thought about adding the lighting on the vehicle, this was where I really just visualized Buick Ula Amphibious Vehicle, driving down south beach at night by all the clubs with the dramatic aqua colored lighting pouring onto the strip. Very appropriate for Miami.
